Sebastian Gravlund got off to a strong start in the Road To Le Mans with a sixth-place finish in the first race but was unfortunately forced off the track from the front row in the second race of the weekend.

Sebastian Gravlund lined up strong in the weekend’s Road To Le Mans — the official support race for the 24 Hours of Le Mans – with Team Virage and Dutch co-driver Rik Koen in the LMP3 Pro class

We had a really solid start with the result from race 1, which showed there was potential for an even better outcome in race 2. I started the first race from P10 and got off to a good start, with some great battles along the way,” says Sebastian Gravlund from Denmark. “Rik also drove a really strong stint, which helped us cross the line with a satisfying P6 in the Pro class.”

After a well-executed first race during the biggest motorsport week of the year, motivation was high for an even better result in Saturday’s race 2 — especially as Sebastian Gravlund was set to start from the front row of the grid in P2, just hours before the start of the 24-hour race with almost 300.000 spectators in attendance.

There was potential to win the race from the front row, but unfortunately I was harshly forced off the track down the straight at the start and I was sent spinning through the field. It was a huge disappointment, especially after showing in race 1 that we could compete at the sharp end of the field. Fortunately, the car only suffered minimal damage and we were able to finish the race,” says a disappointed Sebastian Gravlund.

Despite Saturday’s disappointing end to the race weekend at Le Mans, Sebastian Gravlund consistently showed strong performance as well as a successful collaboration with Team Virage and Rik Koen in the highly competitive Road To Le Mans field.
