Le Mans Cup debut for Sebastian Gravlund this weekend

Sebastian Gravlund embarks on the next chapter of his career as an endurance racer as the Michelin Le Mans Cup kicks off its first round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend.

The Copenhagen-based racer has made the leap from small, agile formula cars to brutal LMP3 prototypes with over 450 horsepower. Alongside British driver Tim Creswick, Gravlund will compete against 29 competitors in a highly competitive field at the Spanish F1 circuit.

– I’m extremely excited to kick off the season. The last few months, since the decision was made, have been long, and although I’ve put in plenty of effort to prepare for the challenges, it’s just something completely different finally getting into the car and measuring up against the competitors,” says Sebastian Gravlund.

He has spent many hours in simulator training, physical training, and mental preparation ahead of the season opener. And the two races in the Prototype Winter Series, in which Sebastian has competed with the Inter Europol Competition team, have certainly been advantageous in preparations:

– It’s nice to come to the first race and already have a really good feel for the monster that needs to be tamed on the track. One of the races was even on this track, so I couldn’t arrive better prepared,” says Sebastian, who will drive the car with number 43 on the side.

The first race of the year in the Michelin Le Mans Cup lasts for one hour and 55 minutes and takes place on Saturday afternoon at 5:40 p.m. The race can be watched live at https://live.lemanscup.com/en/
