Sebastian Gravlund makes Eurocup 3 debut at Spa-Francorchamps

This weekend marks the beginning of the new Eurocup 3 championship, and Sebastian Gravlund is ready to hit the track with the Dutch team MP Motorsport at Spa-Francorchamps.

The winter break has been long, and due to the regulations in the new championship, which limit the number of test days before the season starts – and the fact that the brand-new Tatuus race car was only ready in early April – neither Sebastian nor his competitors have gained much experience with the 270 horsepower Formula car. Sebastian is far from worried:

– The first test with the car in Valencia went really well. I got used to the car and the extra horsepower, and I also pushed the limits a bit. It drives really well, so I’m looking forward to getting down to business for real, says the Copenhagen-based racer.

The switch from the Spanish Formula 4 championship to Eurocup 3 will require adjustment. It applies to all drivers in the championship, and even though Sebastian has high ambitions, his mental compass is set for maximum learning and experience in the first race weekend of the year:

– Everything is new for everyone since it’s a completely new class and car, but my focus is on gaining important experiences rather than chasing a win at any cost. I believe it will be an advantage in the long run – but if the opportunity for a top result arises, I’ll take it, says Sebastian, who has one ace up his sleeve:

– Spa is one of my absolute favorite tracks, and I feel really comfortable on the circuit, so I have no doubt that it can be a really good weekend for the team and myself.

Practice starts Thursday morning, while qualifying and the season’s first race are scheduled for Friday afternoon, with the second race taking place Saturday morning.

The races will be broadcast on Eurocup 3’s Youtube channel.
